Recent Happenings

I am going to try and update my blog at least once a week. We will see how this goes. It shouldn't be hard to remember because Michelle over at Simply Obsessed has been good about reminding us or asking if we have updated our blogs. You should also go over and peek at their March monthly kit because it is awesome. I can't wait to get mine. actually here's a picture of it. Jaime and Shauna picked some great stuff for us to play with this month.

I have metioned a project I did for my Nana's birthday and I want to share it with you, so here it is:

I was really pleased with how it came out. My Nana loved it so much she had it framed and it is hanging up at their house now.

Also this is an older LO I did but I have been saving it to give to my Nana because I wanted to put it on a canvas. I am chicken at trying new things so it took me forever to try, but I think it came out really nice.

I do have some other things that I have finished but I can't share them yet until after the decision for the DT is over at Angels Wings and Crafty Things

Another really cool thing going right now one of my favorite sites Scrapbook Goddess is for the monthly challenge, the owner Sonja was kind enough for those of us who signed up for to send out to us a bunch of goodies from her store and all we have to do is make 1 LO for the monthly challenge. Let me tell you she sent enough products to make a lot of LO's so I am really excited about it. I need to get my rear in gear and get my pictures printed and my LO done.

Also there is a birthday card swap going on right now and there is still time to sign up, sign up ends on the 15th of March so if you like swaps and are interested, sign up and come and play with us, it will be fun! Besides that you can order so much fun stuff from the online store.

By the way my links were working for the websites but you can go to any of them on My Favorite Scrappy Sites. Sorry about that.

Happy New Year & Valentine's Day!

So it is a brand new year and I wish you all the best (I know this is a really late happy new but I did start this post shortly after New Years). I know that I have many hopes for this new year but I really hate to make resolutions because I know that I won't stick to them. One thing Brian and I are going to do is to try and eat healthier and exercise more. He is trying to quit smoking so I am rooting for him on that little adventure. He decided it was time because it may help us to conceive if he stops. We shall see. Yes I said concieve we are praying for a baby. I have wanted to try since we first got married but Brian wasn't ready and now he is really ready. Pray for us that it is God's will that we become parents.

When I started writing this Brian was trying to quit smoking well guess what he had help with Chantix and he has stopped smoking! I'm so proud of him. Let's pray that he is able to stay smoke free from now on.

As for the DT's I tried for I didn't get either of them and I am ok with it. I am proud of myself for at least trying.

Well guess what I think I'm going to try again for another DT, I found the call on the Pubcalls blog and I really love with website. The ladies on the forum are awesome and a real bonus is the owners have made a faith based website so not only do we get to share our love of scrapbooking with each other we get share our faith journey's with each other too. So you should come on by and peek at this website. It is a newer site and still growing, but like I said it a great bunch of people.

I do have some LO's that I want to share that I have done. During January, Secret Scrapper and Simply Obsessed websites had month long challenges and have really helped to give me a push on my scrapping. Both websites had challenges going through the entire month of January and that's how long you had to finish all the challenges so there is no pressure to finish right away you could go at your own pace. Honestly I didn't finish as many LO's as I wanted to but at least it was a start for my ultimate scrapping goal for the year.

An added bonus was at Secret Scrapper I was so honored to be asked to participate in the scrapathon and issue challenges and the ladies on that site did awesome job participating all month with the challenges even mine! I need to get a few RAK's out to some awesome girls which I will do in a few days.

Here's a few of the LO's I did during the month January for the Secret Scrapper and Simply Obsessed.

Can you believe that my Nana turned 90 years old! My Mom and her brothers and sisters put together a surprise party for her, it was a lot of fun! There were mariachi's singing to her as she walked up to my uncle's door. It was so cute to see, she started crying. We got to see a lot family members we don't get to see enough. An added bonus the party is that my sister and my Godson came to AZ for the party. It is always nice to see them. I spent as much time with them as could although I couldn't take any time off from work but there is always next time.

Everyone I wish you a happy Valentine's Day and I hope that your sweethearts don't forget to give you a little something!

Happy New Year

It's time for an update. I had such a good Christmas this year. Spending time with family and all the yummy food was a plus too. I got two really awesome gifts, Brian gave me a gift card to the Coach store and I got myself a great purse and a matching wallet to go with it. To top that off I got a gift certificate for a day at the spa. It's called Doloce and it just opened in Peoria. I can't wait to put that baby to use. My Mom got a set of the Rachel Ray knives which by coincidence is exactly what I bought for her. We had a good laugh about that on Christmas day.

Tomorrow is New Years eve and will be getting the house in order for our yearly bash. That will be lots of fun. I will definately take lots of pictures and put some on here for everyone to see. I hope that you all have a very safe and fun New year.

Oh couple of more things to share, you should really peek over at this website
secretscrapper.com because starting in January they are having a scrap-a-thon to get our new year scrap mojo going. I was excited and honored that my friend Liz who is on the DT there asked me to host a few challenges. I said yes and I have four that I am hosting and if you play I am giving a RAK at the end of the month (for my challenges). That's right you have the ENTIRE month of January to finish all the fun challenges that the DT and some of the MB members are dishing out for us to play.

I haven't heard from my previous attempt at Scrapping the Music but I did try for another DT team at this really cute website.

We will see what happens. I am kind of in shock that I finally got the courage to try for a DT. I will let you all know what happens.

Guess What???

I decided to submit for a design team. I just did it the other day and I figured that I have nothing to lose. It is for a DT spot over at Scrapping the Music. Wish me luck. I'll tell you, I am a little nervous but, even if I don't get it at least I can say I did try and I won't regret not trying later. If you get a chance mosey on over to this blog and check it out, there is a lot of really good inspiration on it. http://www.scrappingthemusic.blogspot.com/

I have been dabbling in sketching lately so I thought I'd share one with those of you who come and read my little blog. Try it if you like and let me know what you think about it.

I got another LO done this evening and I'm starting to feel my mojo again which makes me so happy!! Here's the LO.

Also, today is Johnathan's 1st birthday. He is my little sweetie and I am so blessed to be a part of his life. So in honor of my little birthday boy here is a recent picture of him for you to see. I will post pictures from his birthday party after I get them (it's on Saturday).

What I've Been Up to

Well can you believe it I actually got a layout done and I am really excited about it. I haven't scrapped in so long it felt really good to get one done. Here it is

I also did a card last month for a friends wedding and thought I'd share it with you too.

I know that I'm not going meet my goal of 100 LO's/cards before the end of the year but I am hoping to a few more done before the new year to add to my LO's for year. I am very behind on challenges on my favorite scrappy sites so I have some inspiration to get me going. Like Liz said there's always next year to reach my scrappy goal!

I have also been contemplating trying for a design team, I'm still not sure I'm going to try but I have a few more days that I think about it. I'm not afraid of the rejection that may happen but I worry more about my ability than anything else. Anyhow, I will let you know what I decide.

I can't believe that on the 13th, my nephew Johnathan is going to be 1 year old. It's so amazing to see how much he has changed in this time. I wish I could have gone to Colorado with my Mom to be with him on his first birthday. I did send him his gift with my Mom. They are going to take pictures for us so I guess I'll have to settle for sharing his birthday with him that way. I just felt so bad for my Dad who couldn't get the time off of work to go visit his grandson. The good news is that my sister and the baby will be down in January for my Nana's 90th birthday.

I can't believe that Christmas is getting so close and it's finally feeling like winter here in Arizona. That just helps put me in more of the Christmas spirit when the weather is colder and not like 80 degrees in December. Although I am almost done shopping I haven't finished all of it. I was supposed to do it yesterday but didn't feel like leaving the house, the dogs and I were all cuddled up on the couch for most of the day and that was heaven for me because it was quiet and I wasn't in front of a computer working, just relaxing watching TV.

My Birthday, etc.

My birthday party last Saturday was a lot fun. I had a few close friends and some family over and we enjoyed cocktails and games. Of course we had to play some Guitar Hero. That seems to be a weekend ritual here with us. We even went to a little bar down the road and did some dancing. We didn't stay too long but that was ok with me. Let's just say I had one too many cocktails. As for pictures well I am usually the one who takes them so there are none because I was having too much fun and forgot to take them.

Fast forward to this weekend while yesterday Brian and I spent the day Christmas shopping and believe it or not we are almost done with our shopping. I believe we only have like 2 or 3 gifts to buy and then we are done. Of course I still need to buy some gifts for my co-workers but that shouldn't be that difficult. Can you believe we managed to get all that shopping done and didn't have to go to the mall to do any of it. I am so thankful for that because the mall is always such a zoo this time of year.

For some reason I still can't get my scrapping mojo back. Which stinks because I am not going to reach my goal of 100 Layouts. I think I somewhere in the 70's. Maybe now that our shopping is just about done I can do some scrapping but we shall see.

A Litte Update

Well the visit with my sister has come and gone and I enjoyed seeing them so much. I have been bad about updating my blog, I have had such a busy couple of months at work and it seems like all I want to do at home is relax and sit next to Brian and watch TV with him after work.

Can you believe November is half over and Thursday is already Thanksgiving! I guess this weekend we are going to celebrate my birthday which is coming up on Tuesday. Not sure what we doing just yet but whatever it is I'll be sure to post some pictures for everyone to see.

As for my scrapping, I have not done much lately but I really hope that I can do some this weekend.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
