Where have I been??

I haven't blogged in forever it seems well it's been over one month since I have done anything on here.

I have done some scrapping this month for my DT assignment and I have had the privilege of being this month's DT coordinator at AW&CT, which means that I made sure to post the all the required challenges etc. It seems pretty quiet over at AW&CT right now, with summer and a lot of the ladies are on vacations etc. I am sure it will pick up again.

I don't have any new LO's that I can share with everyone, I guess I have just been in a scrappy funk lately and I need to get out of it. Hopefully I will get my booty in my scrap room this week.

Other big new, my sister will be here tomorrow and she and Johnathan will be here for 3 weeks!! Brian and I are taking vacation starting on the 4th of July so I will be able to spend a week of quality time with my sister and Johnathan. We also invited our cousins Courtney and Ellissa(they are 10 and 9) to come stay either with Brian and I or at my parent's where my sister is staying. I am really looking forward to this.

Anyhow since I don't have any LO's to share I want to share this picture of the sunset that I took tonight, the photo isn't doing it justice the sun looked so red this evening, it was spectacular, I wish my camera would have picked up the color a little better but it didn't but it's still beautiful.

Weekend Scrapping

I was so excited because I actually got to do some scrapping this weekend. I had been wanting to scrap all week but just didn't have the time and I finally found some time and got my scrap on!

The LO's I did were for a contest over at Simply Obsessed, it is for the entire month of May and it is so relaxing to have all month to get as many of the challenges done as as possible. Less pressure and I like that. If you feel the need for some challenges then come on over and play. Another plus, one of the LO's I did I used for a challenge at Simply Obsessed, I used a sketch from AW&CT that Robin shared with us as a challenge.

You can also come by and visit us at AW&CT and see our sketch challenges they are good inspiration for those of you who like to work off sketches.

On an exciting note, we got our full reveal of June's kit, I can't wait to get it, here's a peek for you. It has so many great summery colors.

Here's this weekend's LO's:

This is the one that I used for Robin's sketch at AW&CT challenge and a challenge over at Simply Obsessed

I didn't do this one this weekend but I did do it a few weeks ago.

Altered Things For Mother's Day.

So we had a very lovely day today. We made dinner for our family and had such a good time visiting and had lots of laughs. I made an altered canvas' for Linda (my mother-in-law) and one for my Mom as their gifts for Mother's Day. It was so cute when I gave Linda hers, she started crying (a good cry). The picture I chose for it is of her cute Jack Russell Terrier named Woody. He is one the sweetest dogs I have ever met and he's been through a lot the last few months. We found out he has cancer and recently finished his last chemo treatment and thank God right now he is in remission but it may not last so I thought what a better gift for her than to have a piece of him forever to hang on her wall. Little did I know that the picture I got my sister-in-law Shana is Linda' favorite one of Woody.

Here's the card I made for her.

My Mom, was late getting home from my Grandma's house and she didn't make it over to see us but I have a lovely altered canvas and a card waiting for her. This a picture of Brian and I at our friend's wedding last year. Maybe I can sneak over to her house sometime this week to give it to her. I can't share her card until next month because I used my DT kit to make it. So I'll post it then.

Here's the canvas that I will be giving to my Mom.

Update...

So I didn't make the DT for Sketch-abilities but some fabulous ladies did and I hope you all go and play because I'm sure they will give you some great inspiration.

I have been working on my May kit for AW&CT and I can't wait to share May's projects with you, Lee gave us some awesome, REMINISCE...Genuine Girl papers. They have been super fun to work with. Alas, you will have to wait until next month to see.

I will be posting a few things I have done recently including my April DT projects in a few days.

Weekend Scrapping

I actually started working on this LO and card during the week, but I did it slowly and they are finally done. These are for some challenges over at Simply Obsessed for their April Spring Cleaning challenges. These were a lot of fun to do. Plus I finally tried stitching on a LO. Those cross-stitching talents came in handy, I did the back stitch all the way around the picture. I really like how this turned out, it is a very simple LO.

Plus I am not so patiently waiting for the May Kit at SO It has Crate Paper patterned papers in it and that is one of my favorite manufacturers. Check out this kit it is amazing.

I realized that I never shared the LO I did with the March monthly challenge kit for Scrapbook Goddess Sonja, aka the Goddess, gave so much good stuff and I still have stuff to use from it.

I also did this LO with the April monthly challenge kit over at Scrapbook Goddess I still have a lot of papers to use from this kit and I intend to. It was fun. If you're looking for a new place to hang out you should come on over and check this website out it's a lot of fun. Oh, this was a total scraplift from my friend Robin. Here's her LO so you can see my inspiration for this LO.

Here's mine

Tune in next week because I will be able to do two things, one post my April DT creations from AW&CT and I will finally find out if I made the DT for Sketch-abilities. There were quite a few applicants over there so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Some LO's to share

In other news I came across this sketch blog called Sketch-abilities through Pub Calls and they are doing at DT call. I decided to give it a try. I love using sketches so I thought I'd give it a shot. All I had to do was to use this sketch for my submission

So here's what I came up with:

I have been scrapping it's just I have not had the time to share them here on my blog. So here are a few things I have done recently

I'm A Bad Bad Blogger

So I promised to draw a name and I totally forgot about until my lovely friend and fellow DT member reminded me that I hadn't updated my blog. While life has been a little busy lately and I just haven't had the time I need to do all the online things I want. I want to apologize for all of you who left comments. I will get the drawing in a moment. I need to put everyone's name in a hat and have Brian draw a name so bear with me.

So the winner is.....

Robin!!!!!!

I really want to thank all of you for taking time to come visit my blog and leaving me some blog love. I do appreciate it.

So I will update my blog again this weekend because I have some LO's I'd like to share with everyone.

That's right! It's not all about what you create, but about what you do for the board! The more you participate, the better chance you have of winning a prize! There are seven opportunities to win a prize. This contest runs from March 1st through August 31st for a total of six monthly prizes, plus there will be ONE overall grand prize winner. Recent Happenings

I am going to try and update my blog at least once a week. We will see how this goes. It shouldn't be hard to remember because Michelle over at Simply Obsessed has been good about reminding us or asking if we have updated our blogs. You should also go over and peek at their March monthly kit because it is awesome. I can't wait to get mine. actually here's a picture of it. Jaime and Shauna picked some great stuff for us to play with this month.

I have metioned a project I did for my Nana's birthday and I want to share it with you, so here it is:

I was really pleased with how it came out. My Nana loved it so much she had it framed and it is hanging up at their house now.

Also this is an older LO I did but I have been saving it to give to my Nana because I wanted to put it on a canvas. I am chicken at trying new things so it took me forever to try, but I think it came out really nice.

I do have some other things that I have finished but I can't share them yet until after the decision for the DT is over at Angels Wings and Crafty Things

Another really cool thing going right now one of my favorite sites Scrapbook Goddess is for the monthly challenge, the owner Sonja was kind enough for those of us who signed up for to send out to us a bunch of goodies from her store and all we have to do is make 1 LO for the monthly challenge. Let me tell you she sent enough products to make a lot of LO's so I am really excited about it. I need to get my rear in gear and get my pictures printed and my LO done.

Also there is a birthday card swap going on right now and there is still time to sign up, sign up ends on the 15th of March so if you like swaps and are interested, sign up and come and play with us, it will be fun! Besides that you can order so much fun stuff from the online store.

By the way my links were working for the websites but you can go to any of them on My Favorite Scrappy Sites. Sorry about that.

Happy New Year & Valentine's Day!

So it is a brand new year and I wish you all the best (I know this is a really late happy new but I did start this post shortly after New Years). I know that I have many hopes for this new year but I really hate to make resolutions because I know that I won't stick to them. One thing Brian and I are going to do is to try and eat healthier and exercise more. He is trying to quit smoking so I am rooting for him on that little adventure. He decided it was time because it may help us to conceive if he stops. We shall see. Yes I said concieve we are praying for a baby. I have wanted to try since we first got married but Brian wasn't ready and now he is really ready. Pray for us that it is God's will that we become parents.

When I started writing this Brian was trying to quit smoking well guess what he had help with Chantix and he has stopped smoking! I'm so proud of him. Let's pray that he is able to stay smoke free from now on.

As for the DT's I tried for I didn't get either of them and I am ok with it. I am proud of myself for at least trying.

Well guess what I think I'm going to try again for another DT, I found the call on the Pubcalls blog and I really love with website. The ladies on the forum are awesome and a real bonus is the owners have made a faith based website so not only do we get to share our love of scrapbooking with each other we get share our faith journey's with each other too. So you should come on by and peek at this website. It is a newer site and still growing, but like I said it a great bunch of people.
http://angelswingsandcraftythings.phpbb24.com/forum/

I do have some LO's that I want to share that I have done. During January, Secret Scrapper and Simply Obsessed websites had month long challenges and have really helped to give me a push on my scrapping. Both websites had challenges going through the entire month of January and that's how long you had to finish all the challenges so there is no pressure to finish right away you could go at your own pace. Honestly I didn't finish as many LO's as I wanted to but at least it was a start for my ultimate scrapping goal for the year.

An added bonus was at Secret Scrapper I was so honored to be asked to participate in the scrapathon and issue challenges and the ladies on that site did awesome job participating all month with the challenges even mine! I need to get a few RAK's out to some awesome girls which I will do in a few days.

Here's a few of the LO's I did during the month January for the Secret Scrapper and Simply Obsessed.

Can you believe that my Nana turned 90 years old! My Mom and her brothers and sisters put together a surprise party for her, it was a lot of fun! There were mariachi's singing to her as she walked up to my uncle's door. It was so cute to see, she started crying. We got to see a lot family members we don't get to see enough. An added bonus the party is that my sister and my Godson came to AZ for the party. It is always nice to see them. I spent as much time with them as could although I couldn't take any time off from work but there is always next time.

Everyone I wish you a happy Valentine's Day and I hope that your sweethearts don't forget to give you a little something!
