Tough Decision

Last week was such a stressful time for Brian and I.  One of our dogs was really sick so we took him to the vet and found out that he has a heart murmur.  To top it off they found a foreign object in his belly.  His situation was so severe that the vet wanted us to take Moose to a cardiologist the next day.  Of course we had no choice, he was just so sick and he looked unhappy (for a lack of a better word).

The cardiologist told us that he was surprised that the murmur hadn't been detected before because it has probably been there since birth.  Not only does he have the heart defect but the doctor also saw a mass on his liver.  He was just surprised to see so much going on such a young dog.  He gave us such a dim future for our little friend.  He has at the most 2 years with a few medications that he will be on for the rest of his short life.  We could do a surgery to try and repair the holes in his heart but there is no guarantee that he will have any longer of a life span or if he will even survive the surgery.  This was a pretty tough decision for us but we decided that we will just keep him on the meds and love him and make sure he has the best life for as long as God lets us keep him on this Earth.

Some would think why care so much about an animal, well the truth of the matter is that we love our dogs like children.  They all hold a special place in our hearts and we would do just about anything for our dogs.

Besides could you resist a face like this?

He is a special boy and we love and adore our little Moose and he will be the most spoiled French Bulldog ever!  We will be positive about the situation and hope that God gives more time than the doctor gave him.

On a lighter note, I promised in my last post to show a few of the Lay Out's I have been doing since I starting blogging again.  Here we go, this is what I have done recently.

On that note... until I share again, thanks for stopping by.

I am back!

It has been quite some time since I posted anything on my blog and as you can see it is a work in progress right so bear with me as I make my changes over the next few weeks.

A brief update on what's been going on in my little world...

I took some time off from anything scrap related. Then a couple of my friends got interested in it and that got me started again. I have been enjoying creating cards and LO's with my girlfriends. It made me remember why I started this wonderful hobby in the first place. I will share a few of my most recent creations shortly.

During my blogging/scrapping break we have had two weddings and a new addition to our family. I have a new brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a nephew. He is just a little crack up. I am still trying to teach him how to say my name, that's a work in progress.

My sister and her little boy are here in our lovely state for an extended stay while her better half is renovating their new home. It has been really nice having her so close again.

In a nutshell that is what has been going on, so stay tuned for a post with my recent creations!

Where have I been??

I haven't blogged in forever it seems well it's been over one month since I have done anything on here.

I have done some scrapping this month for my DT assignment and I have had the privilege of being this month's DT coordinator at AW&CT, which means that I made sure to post the all the required challenges etc. It seems pretty quiet over at AW&CT right now, with summer and a lot of the ladies are on vacations etc. I am sure it will pick up again.

I don't have any new LO's that I can share with everyone, I guess I have just been in a scrappy funk lately and I need to get out of it. Hopefully I will get my booty in my scrap room this week.

Other big new, my sister will be here tomorrow and she and Johnathan will be here for 3 weeks!! Brian and I are taking vacation starting on the 4th of July so I will be able to spend a week of quality time with my sister and Johnathan. We also invited our cousins Courtney and Ellissa(they are 10 and 9) to come stay either with Brian and I or at my parent's where my sister is staying. I am really looking forward to this.

Anyhow since I don't have any LO's to share I want to share this picture of the sunset that I took tonight, the photo isn't doing it justice the sun looked so red this evening, it was spectacular, I wish my camera would have picked up the color a little better but it didn't but it's still beautiful.

Weekend Scrapping

I was so excited because I actually got to do some scrapping this weekend. I had been wanting to scrap all week but just didn't have the time and I finally found some time and got my scrap on!

The LO's I did were for a contest over at Simply Obsessed, it is for the entire month of May and it is so relaxing to have all month to get as many of the challenges done as as possible. Less pressure and I like that. If you feel the need for some challenges then come on over and play. Another plus, one of the LO's I did I used for a challenge at Simply Obsessed, I used a sketch from AW&CT that Robin shared with us as a challenge.

You can also come by and visit us at AW&CT and see our sketch challenges they are good inspiration for those of you who like to work off sketches.

On an exciting note, we got our full reveal of June's kit, I can't wait to get it, here's a peek for you. It has so many great summery colors.

Here's this weekend's LO's:

This is the one that I used for Robin's sketch at AW&CT challenge and a challenge over at Simply Obsessed

I didn't do this one this weekend but I did do it a few weeks ago.

Altered Things For Mother's Day.

So we had a very lovely day today. We made dinner for our family and had such a good time visiting and had lots of laughs. I made an altered canvas' for Linda (my mother-in-law) and one for my Mom as their gifts for Mother's Day. It was so cute when I gave Linda hers, she started crying (a good cry). The picture I chose for it is of her cute Jack Russell Terrier named Woody. He is one the sweetest dogs I have ever met and he's been through a lot the last few months. We found out he has cancer and recently finished his last chemo treatment and thank God right now he is in remission but it may not last so I thought what a better gift for her than to have a piece of him forever to hang on her wall. Little did I know that the picture I got my sister-in-law Shana is Linda' favorite one of Woody.

Here's the card I made for her.

My Mom, was late getting home from my Grandma's house and she didn't make it over to see us but I have a lovely altered canvas and a card waiting for her. This a picture of Brian and I at our friend's wedding last year. Maybe I can sneak over to her house sometime this week to give it to her. I can't share her card until next month because I used my DT kit to make it. So I'll post it then.

Here's the canvas that I will be giving to my Mom.
